Our Mission
Wags For Walks UCF is an Orlando, Florida based college club at the University of Central Florida that was created by and for individuals of all majors who love animals and are seeking the chance to give back to the homeless dogs of Orlando. Wags for Walks is partnered with Orange County Animal Shelter canines in hopes of raising awareness for adoption and mental health in students and canines.

Member Roles
Animal Handler
SUPPORTER
Animal Handler
TRANSPORTER
Animal handlers who did not transport a canine to the event. This role is great for those who could not drive all the way to shelter that day or do not feel comfortable handling a shelter dog at this time.
This role is very helpful as you are another set of eyes, ears, and face to our organization for our mission and safety.
Animal Handlers that have checked out OCAS canines and transported them to and from the event. They are solely responsible in walking their canine and will be the only person who is allowed to return their animal to the shelter.
Monthly Meetups
We get together twice a month on
Sunday’s at 10:30am at Lake Eola Park for walking events to increase mental health in canines and students, while raising adoption awareness.
Attendance is not required, but is recorded.
Members are encouraged to attend atleast
50% of events within a semester!
If you are a transporter, please arrive at Orange County Animal Shelter at 10am on event day to check out your dog!

Where should i park
for a lake eola event?
thorton park central garage perferred ($4 an hour)
Can i bring my own dog with me sunday, she Is friendly?
no. There are no allowed interactions between ocas dogs and non-ocas dogs at events
Where do we meet at lake eola? green patch in front of thorton park central garage,
look for pink shirts
Can i bring my friends/ family?
yes! please note if they are not members of the club, they may not at any time take hold of a canines leash.
If seen, you will be dismissed

Interested in adopting/ fostering?
Wags for walks members are not allowed to release adoptable dogs directly from events, if you are INTERESTED in adopting one of the dogs we walked, you must go directly to the shelter
